There can be something deeply grounding about having a dedicated space to pause, reflect, and focus fully on yourself without the distractions of everyday life. In-person therapy offers the opportunity to step away from daily pressures and engage in meaningful, face-to-face connection in a calm, supportive environment.
I have found that people with high-functioning anxiety and perfectionism seek therapy after they have exhausted all of their other options. Many successful individuals have tools to help them navigate most life stressors and they are accustomed to solving their own problems and taking care of their needs independently. It is common for high-achieving individuals to expect themselves to have all of the answers and not need help from others - spending a lot of time overthinking, doubting their self-worth, and feeling frustrated.
Adult children of emotionally unavailable parents are self-sufficient and frequently experience relationship difficulties that they do not understand and can't seem to change. Despite success in most other areas of life, they feel lonely, anxious, and lack true connection in their relationships.
Dr. Markle is a therapist who recognizes that you have skills and knowledge - and can offer you a different therapeutic experience.
Stepping into Dr. Markle's therapy office is an hour of quiet calm away from the noise and busyness of life. It is a time where there is no competition for your attention and you are accepted exactly how you are and for who you are.
Located on the second floor of a quiet, multi-use office with little foot traffic, the office is private and comfortable.
Dr. Markle will welcome you and ensure a safe space for openness and sharing. She will guide the process so you do not have pressure to know what to talk about. Dr. Markle's skills as a psychologist make therapy feel natural and conversational.
In-person therapy and virtual therapy are both highly effective and both have advantages. While virtual therapy can be more convenient for some, many prefer the intimacy and therapeutic environment of meeting in person. In-office therapy adds an element of safety and connection allowing for clients to be open and vulnerable - and ultimately deeper therapeutic work.
Finding the right therapeutic environment matters. If you are looking for a thoughtful, supportive space to better understand yourself and create meaningful change, I welcome you to reach out to learn more about working together.

Frequency of therapy appointments varies and Dr. Markle takes into account each person's unique situation to create a plan. Generally, clients will attend therapy appointments (50-60 minutes) once per week for the first 4 weeks. This allows time for the therapeutic relationship to develop and to get a full picture of the presenting concern. Dr. Markle collaborates with her clients to determine what works best for them clinically, financially, and personally based on how they respond to therapy and how they process between sessions. Weekly therapy sessions is standard but clients may choose to be seen every other week, once monthly, or at a frequency that fits their needs.
